UNESCO Beijing Annual Report 2025
The UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia (UNESCO Beijing) is pleased to present the Annual Report 2025, a landmark year celebrating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and UNESCO.
Guided by the theme of “Building Our Future Together,” UNESCO Beijing proudly serves five East Asian countries—China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Japan, Mongolia, and the Republic of Korea—across the core sectors of Education, Natural Sciences, Social and Human Sciences, Culture, and Communication and Information.
2025 Strategic Achievements:
- Communication and Information: Advanced media freedom law reforms in Mongolia and championed digital accessibility in China.
- Social and Human Sciences: Empowered youth through the International Youth Forum and led ethical AI initiatives.
- Culture: Leveraged strategic partnerships to position culture as a driver for sustainable development.
- Education: Enhanced digital education, expanded lifelong learning networks, and fortified teacher resilience.
- Natural Sciences: Spearheaded water culture dialogues, Open Science cooperation, and climate action through biosphere networks.
