Investing in rural people - IFAD Innovative Poverty Reduction Program: Specialized Agribusiness Development in Sichuan and Ningxia

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) funded project "Innovative Poverty Reduction Programme: Specialized Agribusiness Development in Sichuan and Ningxia" started on October 30, 2018. 

The project will be implemented over 6 years with the goal of supporting farmer cooperatives, build industrial development bases, develop inclusive, equitable and sustainable value chains. It will lift the target population out of poverty and consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation in 10 counties and districts in Sichuan Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. 

At present, 55 farmer cooperatives have been supported and the first planting and breeding bases in the project area have been completed. Farmers and management personnel have been systematically trained, the lessons learned from project implementation is being systematically recorded, the income of the target population has increased significantly, and the project achievements and influence continue to expand.
